INAM, Maputo 7th July 2001

The first phase of the message switching system (MESSIR) for the automation of the data reception and transmission has been successfully installed by technicians of the supplying company (COROBOR).
With the installation of this system, INAM is able to receive all the data available on the Global Telecommunication System (GTS) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) from Pretoria at a speed of 64 kbps. INAM is also able to share the data with the forecasting centers at Maputo International Airport and Beira International Airport.
