Maputo, 24 January 2001

A meeting on the progress of the INAM reconstruction project was held on Wednesday, 24 January 2001 with the representatives of INAM, FMI and MFAF. The detailed work plan of 2001 was discussed.

The major activities foreseen within a few months are the installations (included with appropriate operation & maintenance training programmes) of the automatic weather station near Xai-Xai, the Message Swithcing System, operational computer systems and the upgraded Primary Data User Station at the Headquarters INAM. Furthermore, the reconstruction of two of the weather stations destroyed by the floods in early 2000 is planned to be initiated soon.
