Climate data management

The data management scheme, including the climatological data base, was established as an integral part of the operational crop monitoring and early warning system. The data management system at the SMD improved the timely publication of meteorological data, as well as the layout of the SMD Meteorological Bulletins. The data bank is based on a WMO CLICOM System. It consists of five data sets: the climatological database including data from 47 weather stations, the current database with data from 28 real-time weather stations, the rainfall database including historical daily precipitation observations, the agrometeorological database including daily data of nine weather parameters, and the synoptical database with 3-hourly agrometeorological observations from Shambat agrometeorological station.
